The immature seeds are cooked as are green beans and is said to taste like aspargas. The edible flowers are said to taste like mushrooms. The highly nutritous leaves are cooked like spinach. Only hardy in zones 8b and above this tree is happy growing in sandy soil and loves the sun and heat.
