Soil: Average garden earth with humus added. Several lumps of charcoal from the fireplace are welcome. One of the few plants that will grow in a container with no drainage hole.
Watering: Soil should be kept rather dry.
Special Care: If leaves around the base drop, the growing ends should be pinched back. Plant needs weekly feeding.
